“Wally” Setup Instructions

Dish Network “Wally” Setup 

         

1. Plug the Female end of the power cord into the receiver port labelled (Labelled above as Power Cord)
2. Plug in either the RCA cable or HDMI cord into the appropriate receiver port– DO NOT use both
3. Attach the other end of either the RCA/HDMI cord into the TV and tune TV to the proper input
4. Attach coax cable to the open end of the “TripleStick”
5. Insert the “TripleStick” USB attachment into either USB port on the back of the receiver (Labelled above as QAM attachment)
6. Attach the opposite end of coax cable to the cable jack on the wall

To Run QAM scan (Needed for initial setup)

1. Using your Dish remote, press the Home button 3 times.
2. Using your Arrow Keys, navigate to the QAM option on the left hand side of the screen.
3. Press Select on the QAM option.
4. A screen will appear with 4 Boxes representing the Tuner, Frequency, Scan Range From, Scan Range To
5. Arrow over to the ‘Scan Range Frequency” box. Press select and using the number pad enter 333 or 495 – whichever will show a green signal bar at the bottom of the screen – If there is no green bar please contact Blue Top
6. Arrow over to the "Scan Range From" box. Press Select and using the arrows again, set the number to 57 and press Select.
7. Arrow over to the "Scan Range To" box. Press Select and using the arrows, set the number to 861 and press Select.
8. Then, press number 5 on your remote control to run the scan.
9. A progress bar should appear on the screen indicating that the scan has begun. It may take several minutes to complete the scan.
10. Afterwards, press the Guide button and navigate up and down in the Guide to verify that your channels are restored.

To program Remote to TV

1. Press the HOME button twice
2. Select Settings
3. Select Remote Control
4. Arrow to and select the device code you want to learn
5. Select the appropriate Pairing Wizard for the device
6. Arrow to and select the brand of the device
7. Select Next
8. Press the VOLUME UP button to test the remote (if other than TV, press power button)
9. If the remote works, select Finished
10. If the remote does not work, select Try Next Code
11. Repeat steps 8-10 until a working code is found

To program Remote to Receiver

1. Press the SYSTEM INFO button on the front panel of your receiver

2. Press the SAT button

1. Press the BACK button

(If system info does not clear from the screen, manually deprogram the remote then repeat steps 1-3)

To unpair remote manually

1. Press the SYSTEM INFO button on the front panel of your receiver (Unless already there)

2. Arrow to and select unpair using the receiver's front panel

Repeat “To program remote to receiver”

To unpair remote using remote

1. Press and hold the SAT mode button until all mode lights on the top of the remote light up

2. Press and hold HOME and GUIDE at the same time for 5 seconds

(If successful you will head 3 descending tones)

3. Repeat “To program remote to receiver”
